Small Stand Alone Aquaponics System
This small unit can be easily built and can be used as a continuous flow or a flood and drain system . A battery of these would allow you to decentralize your fish population as well as allow you to diversify your species of fish .

what about the cut outs or notches at the base of the 2" pipe ? how will the water continue
I don't understand what you mean by the notches at the base of the 2" pipe . Could you be a little more specific ?
hi Jerry what I meant was do you put any notches at the base of the 2' pipe to allow the water easy access to the stand pipe in the bell
@@charlespetterson9533 The 2 inch inlet is adequate for water to flow around and into the 3/4 inch standpipe without having to notch anything .
Interesting presentation! I’m new and learning. I have a pilot project that I’m working on set up the same way but I can’t get it to siphon. Does it have to be air tight?
Yes . It must be an airtight system to work .
ummmmmmmmmmm no problems mine works well
Thank you
Great vdieo Jerry. This makes it so simple. I'm going to try this out. Thanks for your time.
great design, ty
So much complicatd parts makes it hard to undrstand.i didnt watchd it till end.
It's very simple bro.
Only perlite?
Yes . Only Perlite .
*🌾 🎋🌿🌷Great book with loads of information [Check Details Here >==>**t.co/Lrwi0vZuTr** ]. My Elder brother is just starting to design an Dry Aquaponics system, and this is a great resource for starting up.*
muito boa dica !!! 👏👏👏
how do you drain it?
catmum11 in the opening seconds of the video you can clearly see the spigot A simple PVC valve but very effective. I've been using this unit to brew worm, manure, and compost tea's
Looking great Jerry 👍 Like the extended reservoir idea mate.
What size heater are you using in the fish tank? And are you using any grow lights? Thanks for the answers!
Hay MarkGood use of what we call IBC loved the short clip but as you are well aware that ain't no where near long enough for us all Good song to
I was concerned after looking into hydroponics, that I may never be able to start a garden project, mainly due to my list of projects with a higher priority (as dictated by my wife) and their expense. Aquaponics, they way you have demonstrated in the video looks a whole lot more affordable. I have several 10 gallon and one 20 gallon fish tanks I acquired for brooding, but no longer use. I am thinking I could use one pump if I find the right elevation for each tank in like a step configuration and linking them with PVC, always sounds good on paper... Because I am going to try to replicate as near as possible what you have, could you explain the key components and their specifications. Pump, heating element for the fish, if you use air pump for fish or they get O2 from the dribble of the return lines?, if the water going into the kitty litter bins returns to the system, and how that happens, and what you mean by manifold, I did not quite grasp the swirl filter concept, and lastly you mentioned a sort of strawberry that grows year round, I couldn't catch the name. I know I ask a lot of questions, but this is the result of low IQ. I appreciate any answers you decide to provide!
Have you tried - AQUAPONICS X10 ?It is a good one off guide for learning how to expand your produce with the clever art of aquaponics minus the normal expense.
if anyone else wants to discover aquaponic gardening system try OFFERANDO AQUAPONICS ?Ive heard some incredible things about it.
Nice system! Welcome to aquaponics! I don't understand why everyone doesn't make the jump from hydroponics to aquaponics. It just makes sense.
Thanks Jerry!
